Louisiana Sales & Use Tax
By completing this course, you will gain a working knowledge of Texas sales and use tax. The course begins with the general rules discussing which goods and services are taxable. They will discuss how the local sales and use tax rules apply. The course will cover multi-state tax issues, including nexus, the Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement, multi-state drop shipments, and internet sales. They'll also cover taxable services in detail with particular emphasis on the more common taxable services. They'll also address issues arising in various industries including real estate construction, oil and gas, and internet.
This course covers the exemptions for both states, including those for manufacturing, construction, gas & electricity, agriculture, export, and exempt organizations. For each state, they'll provide strategies for attendees to use in order to minimize the likelihood or amount of adverse sales tax assessments. Throughout the course, they'll review the latest court cases, new legislation and Comptroller pronouncements.
